Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 22, 2026
1. Who we are
MP3 WARS LLC ("we", "us") is a Virginia limited liability company that operates the Mp3 Wars mobile app, including its Song Wars and Beat Wars modes (the "App"). This policy applies to the App and to our website at https://mp3wars.com.
By creating an account or using the App you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Questions go to support@mp3wars.com.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what the App needs to work. We do not sell your information, and the App does not show third-party ads.
Information you give us
- Account details: your email address, username and password. Passwords are handled by Google's Firebase Authentication; we never see them in readable form.
- Profile details: profile photo, bio, favorite genre and theme color, if you set them.
- Content you post: songs, beats and videos you upload, links you submit (such as YouTube or SoundCloud), posts, comments, reposts, favorites and who you follow.
- Messages: direct and group messages you send in the App.
- Votes and feedback: your battle and challenge votes, and any optional feedback you leave on a battle.
- Live room activity: chat messages, reactions, votes and queue entries in the Live room.
- Reports and blocks: when you report a user, post, comment or track, we store who reported it, what was reported, the reason you picked and any note you add. The list of people you block is private to you and is used only to hide them from you and stop them from messaging you.
- Support messages: anything you send us when you contact support.
Files you upload. Tracks, cover art, post images and profile photos are stored in Google Cloud Storage. Anyone who has the link to a file can open it, so do not upload anything you want to keep private.
Information created by using the App
- Notifications we generate for you (for example comments, follows and challenge results).
- Win/loss and vote statistics for your account and tracks.
Technical information
Our service providers, such as Google Firebase, may process technical data like your IP address, device type and app version to deliver and secure the service. The App does not use advertising identifiers or third-party analytics tools.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts or payment card details. If we add paid features later, payments will be handled by Apple, Google or another payment provider, and we will update this policy first.
3. How we use information
We use your information to run the App and keep it safe. Specifically, to:
- create and manage your account and sign you in
- show your profile, tracks, posts and comments to other users, as described in section 5
- run battles, challenges, leaderboards, crowns and the Live room, and count votes
- deliver messages and in-app notifications
- review reports, remove content that breaks our Terms, and handle copyright takedown requests
- investigate abuse, fraud and security problems
- answer your support requests
- improve the App and fix bugs
- meet legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information or use it to build advertising profiles.
4. Who we share it with
We share information only with the providers that run the App, with other users as described in section 5, and when the law requires it.
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Storage) stores your account, content and files and runs the App's backend. Google processes this data on our behalf under its own privacy terms.
- YouTube and SoundCloud play tracks that users submit as links. When you play one, your device loads their player, and they may collect data under their own policies. We do not control that.
- Apple and Google operate the app stores and your device's operating system. They handle app downloads and any future in-app purchases.
- Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information if we believe it is required by law, to respond to valid legal process, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety or property of users, the public or us.
- Business changes. If MP3 WARS LLC is sold or merged, your information may transfer to the new owner, who must honor this policy.
Our database access is limited to the people who run the App. Messages and other content are stored on our servers and are not end-to-end encrypted, so we can technically access them. We will do that only to investigate reports, enforce our Terms, keep the App secure, or comply with the law.
5. What other users can see, and your controls
Mp3 Wars is a social app, so much of what you post is visible to other people.
- Public profile: your username, photo, bio, favorite genre, followers and following, win/loss record, tracks and posts can be seen by other users, including people who are not signed in where the App allows it.
- Tracks and comments: uploads, comments and reposts are visible to others. Anyone who can see a track can see its play counts and vote totals.
- Track stats: win/loss and vote stats under your tracks on your public profile are hidden by default. You can show them in Settings.
- Messaging: in Settings you choose who can message you: everyone, only people you follow, or nobody.
- Battle feedback: feedback you leave on a battle is shown to the artist it is about without your name, and is not shown publicly. Our database does record which account left it so we can prevent abuse.
- Live room: chat, reactions and votes in the Live room are visible to others in the room.
- Voting in chats: when a battle is shared in a chat, the people in that chat can see which song each member voted for.
Do not post personal information you want to keep private. Content you share can be copied or screenshotted by others, and we cannot control that.
You can edit your profile and delete your own posts, comments and tracks in the App at any time. You can also block and report other users from their profile.
6. Keeping, deleting and protecting your data
Retention and deletion. We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account in Settings, under Delete account. When you do, we delete your profile, username, uploaded tracks and files, posts, comments, favorites, follows, reposts, messages you sent, notifications and block list, except where we must keep a copy to comply with the law, resolve disputes or enforce our Terms. A few records may remain because they belong to other people's data or because we need them to keep the App safe: someone else's follow of you, replies other people wrote under your posts or comments, anonymous vote counts, and reports about or from you. Uploaded files are removed as part of deletion, but removal from storage can take a short time, and backups may take up to 30 days to clear.
Security. We rely on Google Firebase's security controls and on rules that limit who can read and change data. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that your information will never be accessed without permission.
Children. The App is not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights. You can access and edit most of your information in the App. You can ask us to correct, export or delete your information by writing to support@mp3wars.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we will respond as the law requires.
Where data is stored. Your information is stored and processed in the United States. If you use the App from another country, you understand that your information will be transferred there.
Changes. We may update this policy. We will post the new version with its date, and for material changes we will tell you in the App before they take effect.
